Geotechnical Testing

A full range of geotechnical testing is carried out in our own fully equipped laboratory.

Liquid and plastic limits, moisture content, quick undrained triaxial and partical size distribution tests are all carried out as routine to BS1377 standards.  Consolidation, compaction, California bearing ratio (CBR) and soil suction tests are also carried out.

Water soluble sulphate and soil pH are also carried out in our laboratory as well as on site Mexi-probe CBR testing.

Root identification examination can also be carried out in conjunction with geotechnical or subsidence claim investigations.

Chemical Analysis

A range of chemical analysis is carried out in-house on soil and water samples.

Soil organic matter to BS1377 (dichromate oxidation), pH, conductivity and water soluble sulphate are routinely carried out.

Water samples are analysed for chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solids, ammonium, nitrate, nitrite, chloride, residual chlorine and hardness all in-house.  Also available is bacteriological analysis of water samples.

Contamination analysis carried out in conjunction with environmental investigations are sub contracted to a UKAS/MCERTS accredited laboratory.
